About Us
Georgette’s Galettes are a tribute to Georgette & Leopold Leberger who imigrated to the United State and brought with her this recipe, carried on from her parents who owned a bakery in the southern Belgium town of Namur. My hope is to carry on our family heritage with this traditional Belgian pastry called a galette. Their love carries on with every smile I see when they enjoy this wonderful treat.
Galettes are a delightful Belgian treat with a soft sweet buttery vanilla taste with a surprising crispy crunch. No need for syrup; you eat them just as they are. We use only the best ingredients, no preservatives, no artificial flavors or colors. We import Belgium pearl sugar which gives it that surprising crunch. There are a lot of imitations out there, but none stand up to our quality or flavor. We are staying true to our Belgian pastry’s heritage which is known for quality and decadence.
Not to be confused with Belgium waffles, (Liege or Brussels waffles) are made with a bread dough (yeast) and sugar that caramelizes on the outside with a fluffy bread interior which are delicious. The French make round danish type pastry with fruit in the middle that is commonly known as a galette as well.
We source our flour and eggs from the great state of Montana.
